My Little Black Dress Challenge Diary, 4th November 2015
This morning was a special morning. I woke up with a strong determination. Today is day 1 of my Little Black Dress Challenge. I want to drop a size and want to wear all those beautiful clothes hanging in my closet in vain. So, I will eat healthy, drink healthy and enjoy sports more actively.
Over the last few years, I put on a few kilos every year. Slowly, but surely, the number on the scale moved up and with it, more importantly, the fat percentage! As a qualified personal trainer, that does not look good. As the owner of a boutique spa specialized in body contouring and cellulite treatments…it looks worse! And guess what? I am still in my forties, but 50 is catching up soon and I realize that if I do not change my lifestyle now, when will I? There really is never a good timing. Always a party, a dinner or a holiday to look forward to. So I just kept postponing and enjoying lots of good food and wine and putting on kilo after kilo.
I want to wear my beautiful Little Black Dress again. To drop a dress size it generally takes 5-8 kg* to lose. I know it will be approximately 6 kg for me. More importantly is the fat %, as that says more about the looks than the kg per se. Think of all those top tennis players, many of them nowadays look so muscular. So their weight may be high, the fat % will be athletic. I first want to bring my whopping 37.1% fat back to a healthy range, which is between 23-35%. I will do that by making sensible choices.
It will be a tough journey, but I am ready to take it and really looking forward to the result. I took some “before” pictures, but so far I am a bit embarrassed to show them to you. I promise though that I will show them in a few weeks to come!
I will update you weekly on this health adventure, documenting my successes and my challenges. I will post pictures of myself, my diet plan and my activities.
So join me…Follow my 6-week body transformation journey on this blog and on Instagram.
